Tehachapi before the big mergers! From December 1995, see Southern Pacific and Santa Fe units running over the loop. While more trains than ever run Tehachapi, these are sights that are now long gone: SP and ATSF painted units and the SP “oil cans” that no longer run over Tehachapi. The action is exciting and the sights wonderful: A long Santa Fe pig train draped around the loop has to be one of the most spectacular sights available.
